At my job we have sales reps. that come in on a weekly basis. I have found these guys to be a great source of info., because they get around from place to place. They hear stuff like who's hiring, places that are opening, places closing, etc. So I seen this sale rep. I knew for about a year last week & asked him about one of his accounts that was hiring. If it was a good place to work, cause I had an upcoming interview there.(there's just not enough hours @ my current job) So this sales rep. goes to this place & bad mouths me then he tells his buddy about the job (who is his unemployed roommate) So I'm screwed out of this job. Tell me how to deal with this guy besides ripping his balls off & shoving them down his throat!!!!!!!!

what goes around comes around but this guy is not your friend...i would quit talking to him and do not let him know any of your business...stay away from him all you can...find someone that is caring and concerned about you needing more work...i would also drop the hint that this guy can not be trusted....

All you need (or needed) to do was go in and interview well. What if you interviewed better than his roommate and what if the interviewer doesn't like the rep guy. You could have still gotten the job.

ignore him the next time he comes in, dont even look in his direction and when he asks you "what's wrong" you smile and say "I'm sorry, I only speak to adults." then walk away. it'll make you feel better. Besides any employer who would listen to a rep instead of checking your references, isn't worth your time.

I would say by-gones. go apply any way, sell your self, bring letterof recommendations. Dont lower your self to his level. In business, truly ,trust no one. be the man you are, (the better one(
