well this is how it was told to me. count how many cigarettes you smoke everyday for a week. o.k.? then take one cigarrette out each morning. do this for a week. then next week take out two and so on..then when you get down to a half pack. make a plan..how will i handle the craving?eat candy?or what? what will i do when i go somewhere i usually smoke?what if i fail? wait two months then try again. They say it works. do not try nicotine patches where you just quit cold turkey. My husband tried that and by half a day we were almost to get a divorce, he bacame extreamely mean and violent and i gave them back.

It is tough, I know. I smoked for 32 years and I was up to 2 packs a day. The way I did it was tp decide on something else I needed to use the money for )like paying my house off) and I just didn't put one in my mouth. I always wanted to. That will never go away. I chewed gum and sunflower seeds to help.

HUM..I'm going to give what MW56 has to say a try. I'm a 40 year smoker that has quit many times and always pick the dirty, expensive habit up again. I've been on the patch and chewed the gum, they did not work for me.
