Try Shoot. You can buy it in any shop/chemist in the Highlands.Use it on yourself and family. Also burn citronelle candles outside when you sit and if you smoke! Then you they tend to stay away from you a bit more. Keep windows closed in the evening as they do love to get in that way as well and ... Where possible ... Don't stand too close to water, ponds etc ... They love that environment.Having said that ... You'll still get bit! I don't know where you are but have to tell you that the midges are the best guardians of the Scottish highlands because!!! They're ferocious! Make Freddy Krugger look like Mother Teresa.

a midge, is a type of Fly.

In my experience Off Skintastic does a good job at repelling all biting insects. Though, I can't say for certain if it would repell Midges, most likely.

the only reason anyone has ever asked to to light a cigarette was to ward of midges! they hate cigarette smoke! no i don't want to encourage smoking but it does work! if you are picniking or eating were there is midges there are some really good outdoor candles that you can get to keep them away. most of the sprays and creams you can buy don't work and some of them even seem to attract more problems than they solve. good luck.

by taking vitamin B 12 your skin emits an odour that is repugnant to the midges. A healthy and natural way to se the little beasties off. alternatively, there is a moisturising cream by Avon called 'skin so soft' which weirdly does the trick!

lavender oil worked for me. Every year I got bitten to death by midges and mosquitos. I sleep with my bedrooms windows wide open so they can just fly in. This year, I started to sprinkle lavender oil on the bedclothes before I got in because I love the smell and find it relaxing. This year is the first year that I have been bite free.

Gnats to you!!!

Well I was recommended Avon's Skin So Soft spray... I've tried it and it works to a point..... There are some nastly buggers out there that seem impervious to whatever I use and I still get bitten......

I also use Citronella Oil. I put some drops on a baby wipe and rub it on my boney bits!!! Ankles, elbows and also the backs of my legs too.. Hope this works.....

Avon Sikin So Soft Oil is your answer. Apply to exposed areas of skin (avoid around the eyes). Keeps mosquitoes at bay too.
