Your local college will run a night course in computer building - the majority do nowadays.
Its not complicated when you know how, but you really need to learn properly rather than just diving straight in there...there are hundreds of things that you could do wrong (and it would be a costly mistake to make)
Its a bit like saying "How do I install a central heating system? I'd like to do it but I don't really know what bits I need, could you point me to a website where I can learn to plumb?" Short answer - no.

First decide what type of system you really want or need.
Before you go ahead and start building your computer, you should have a good idea what you will use this new PC for. Will it be:
- To use for work? In this case you'll probably won't need such fantastic hardware, unless your work requires you to use some extensive software, such has 3D graphics, video and graphics, programming, CAD/CAM, etc.
- To play video games with? If you want to build a new PC geared for video games, then you'll probably want to get some of the latest new hardware, so you can really enjoy all the new 3d technology now featured in today's video games.
- Just to surf the web with? If you only want a machine that you can use to surf the web, use e-mail and chat, then you can rest assured that you won't really need all that much expensive hardware.
- Just an overall system? Most cases often that not, this is the system people want. Just a computer that can perform a whole variety of tasks, without being to slow, and without being too expensive.
- Do you want power computer? One thing is for sure; these types of machines are great fun, yet they tend to be quite expensive.

I don't know the name of these stores, but I have seen them and even been in one. They sell parts, and have technicians there to help you resolve problems with computers. You do the work yourself, and they supply the parts and help when you need it. Maybe someone will answer the question, and know what I'm talking about. You might even be able to do a search on Yahoo and come up with the name of those stores. I believe it is something like "computers plus". Anyway, they are a cool store and have the right idea. Lots of people want to work on or build their own computer. Good Luck!!

If you want to email me, I'll run through the various stages etc with you - will advise on hardware and all that, and guide your through step-by-step.
As long as you have half a brain, it's not tricky. I built my first PC a few years back with no real idea what I was doing, and yes, I made a few mistakes along the way, but that's how you learn I guess. (Or in this case, you can learn from my mistakes!)

it`s pretty hard to build one if you have not had any training you need to know some dos and how to set up harddrives you could end up wasting a lot of money i would think twice before doing it. Maybe read up on it first before buying anything.
