Which tends to be more beautiful to you- something that is shining new, stylish, and unblemished, or something that has been weathered, and shows it has been used? Why do you think you feel this way?

It rather depends! I value certain things because they come from my mum, things we bought together or she bought me before she died. To me these are invaluable! No money could buy them, be they books, crockery, table cloth she embroidered, even my Christmas decorations! Because she bought them for me! Then again i treated myself to a new computer and i value it very much because it's terrific as opposed to my old one. Then again, and excluding material things ... I value my privacy more than anything else because i lived in an urban area for too long so to have moved away from maddening crowds, to have no neighbours but cows grazing nearby means the world to me! I feel finally free! So you bet i value that very much!

Value is very personal, hence subjective and relative or depending on the situation. It is also scientific as in aged wine tastes better than new.

Antiques command better and higher values in years. The same with real properties.

Divorce is the result of devalued relationships and finding another valuable replacements that express newfound love, affection and energy.

Anything new that has proven its worth overtime is never new anymore at the time of proof. But the attachment to it over time gives it more value compared to anything new that has not yet been tested.
