Is there such things as Astral Travel?

I have been doing alot of research on Astral Travel. I even tried, but it was always unsuccesful. For those who doesn't know what is Astral Travel, Please take a look first.

Astral travel has been practised throughout history - and there have been thousands of documented scientific experiements confirming that astral travel is real.
People seek therapy because they 'wake up paralyzed and rigid' (sleep paralysis, a close component of astral travel) 'Wake up and see strange beings around them' (entities found in the astral plane) 'Find themselves floating or vibrating violently, or engulfed in a bright light' (sensations felt as the astral body leaves the physical body) Some people have even gone so far as to say their astral experiences are alien encounters.


I am also interested to know if its true. If u have any encounters, OR EVEN YOU HAD TRIED, please tell me more about it. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astral_travel)<-- check if u dont believe.

Back in the seventies, there was this guy, Lobsang Rampa, who wrote several books about astral travel. Someone also put out a bible that was acquired from the akashic records. That is, when light bounces off the planet, it produces this constant light-stream which can be accessed through astral travel. I've tried and got about two feet out of my body once, but that was it. Its a scary thing to leave your body conscientiously

I have tried by to no avail so far.. that is I am not in a position to claim that I have had full conscious contacts with the astral or other worlds.. however, often times I get into a stream of consciousness where I have many ideas about what is inside me and how I feel about the Universe.. it is really difficult to explain, but it has to do with talking.. I start talking about something that is completely far out , yet I can give the complete account.. it's something like recounting a different reality that is not of this world (but could eventually be ...)
