I feel for you. I had horrible sickness too. Some things to try are: a dry cracker or biscuit before you get out of bed. fizzy drinks. Sea sickness bands (the ones you put on your wrist with the pressure points) and ginger - make a tea with fresh ginger and boiling water, or try some crystallised ginger you can get this from health food stores. Some work for some people and some don't. I hope one of them works for you. The positive side is that sickness rarely lasts after 13 weeks. Congrats and good luck! x

there is no way of completely getting rid of morning sickness but there are a few things that can help. ginger is a good for morning sickness or as it was my case all day sickness keep some in your purse an smell it or ginger nut biscuits are good. also the min you wake up even before you get out of bed eat some plain crackers just two or three. then when you get up have just a slice of toast an juice. don't stick to just three meals a day little an often is much better so instead of three meals have 5 or 6 healthy snacks don't try to fill your self. this did help with me but, later on in my pregnancy i developed hypremises an got dehydrated so drink plenty an small amounts of food. hope that helped

Congratulations.
There is a new thing for morning sickness you could try - it's called ginger gum. You should be able to get it from your local chemist. Be very careful what medicines you take when you are pregnant, always ask advice from the doctor or pharmacist. It is usually recommeded that you do not take any medication for the first three months, but you still need advice after this period.
I had morning sickness for nine months during my pregnancy, but most people only suffer for a few weeks. Good Luck.

Some people suggest ginger (in biscuit form) and say to rest in bed before getting up in the morning.

I my case, I had evening sickness, so that was out of the question. I found the only thing that worked for me was apples - fresh, green and crunchy. Even the smell helped, so you could try that.

I'm sorry for your 24 hour sickness but congratulations!

hi, i suggest u visit a GPand get you tested to confirm,if u are pregnant, its gonna be the best feeling in the world if u are pregnant, the morning sickness is part of it and its a sign that ur baby is doing well and healthy. i know the feeling is terrible but try coping with the morning sickness by having ginger cookies, oranges, lemon tea, every time you feel nauseated it works, not thinking about how bad you feel works even better. with time the morning sickness will go away because as your baby matures your body will adjust with the changes and it will finally accept them. iv learnt these from experience. hang on there u,ll be fine soon, take it easy.all the best

Go to your bed and stay there till it goes away! If that is not an option try keeping a packet of digestives by your bed to nibble first thing when you wake up and invest in some peppermint tea, mint settles the stomach. It doesn't get rid of it completely, but it does take the edge off. Also always carry mints or chewing gum with you just in case you feel nauseous whilst out and about. Try to avoid enviroments that you now are going to trigger it, e.g cafes (fried food smell made me retch), perfumerys (not sure why with this one) etc. If you have severe sickness then go to your doctor and he will prescibe anti-sickness tablets, but they do take a couple of days to kick in.

You think you are pregnant? You must have some idea of when you last had unprotected sex and/or when you last had a period or how late your current one is!!!! If your 24 hour sickness doesn't go in 24 hours, then you need to get a pregnancy test to find out.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Here are a few things that you could try...
Peppermint tea or hard candy or gum
Lemon hard candy or tea or lemonade
Ginger tea or gingersnap cookies
suck on ice
try to keep candy or something in your mouth at all times
Eat saltine crackers before you even get out of bed in the morning.
Your doc can prescribe you something better if you continue to have morning sickness past 3 months. Mine lasted most of my pregnancy with all 3 of my children.
If all else fails you can put a clip on your nose so that you can't smell anything! Ha! I know, crazy!
Best wishes!!!

I had 24 hr sickness on my second baby so I really feel for you. Nothing really worked for me but people did advise me to try the following;

Ginger biscuits, dry toast, ginger tea

There are also wrist bands you can buy in chemists or health shops, similar to travel sickness bands, that are supposed to help. But you may be just one of the unfortunate ones for whom nothing works.

Best of luck with the pregnancy.

No, it should go after the first four months though!!

If it gets very bad you can be prescribed anti-sickness pills but they won't want to do that yet because they don't know what long term effects it will have.

If you are sick throughout the pregnancy, they will prescribe something for the third trimester!

Congratulations by the way!
