My uncle Willis brought his flask to My Aunt Lena's funeral! He was half looped and he did stumble and slobber a lot over his wife's casket. The family accepted this as normal behavior for a grieving Irish man. Everybody else was drinking before we left the funeral/ It CAN be perfectly acceptable behavior if you are in the right company. Depends on who is giving the eulogy. I think we all have had that feeling once during a time such as a funeral..."Man, I could really use a shot of something."
And we all know that rappers pour a "40" on the graves of their departed brothers. This is a pretty cool thing to do.

Take a whole friggin' bottle of JD. In fact, take two and attach them to one of those baseball caps with the straws the go from the bottle in to your mouth.
Actually, about ten years back, we had an open-coffin wake for my aunt and my shithead little cousin nearly spilt a pint on her.

You've got to make those tears come somehow, right? I don't see anything wrong with a little bit of help. The ladies will swoon over a teary-eyed man!

If you can handle your liquor. If you are going to behave in a way that is disrespectful to your friend and his family then leave the flask at home and go out to a bar with some buddies afterward.

Not just no, but . . . (I'm sure you've heard the rest of the expression before!) That behavior needs to be confined to the wake, if there is/was one.
