Hi Autumn, it wasn't me who got teased for not knowing who ALW is. It was a friend of mine. Everyone was really surprised when he asked us who ALW was while watching the Maria show last Saturday. He's thirty and English.

Yes it is possible, though the man is a genius as far as music is concerned, he is not one of the most photographed celebs...I wonder why?

Has someone been teasing you because you don't know who he is. If they have you should not worry.

There are people growing up in the UK who don't know who the Prime Minister is. So ALW? Hell, yeah!

It shouldn't be possible.. that'd be like growing up without hearing of any of his big-time musicals like The Phantom of the Opera. I'm sure that even if people couldn't remember his full name, they'd definitely have heard of one of his musicals at least. Not to mention the more recent ones like Bombay Dreams which were advertised heavily, all over the UK and on prime time television.

Quite possible indeed. I have a few British friends who haven't the foggiest idea who Andrew Lloyd Weber is. If you're not into his style of productions then you won't know of him or even give a damn who he is.

I suppose that it depends on the age of the person and whether or not there parents are into musical theatre. All of my children know who he is but I do know others who have never heard of him.

If they truly do not know who he is, they may consider themselves very fortunate indeed because they have not had to endure his attempts at musical composition.
I don't doubt that there are many young people who have never heard of him.

and they all think he's a plagarist.
