Burton makes excellent boards, boots, bindings and clothing. In trying to be a complete snowboard compnay they make very high-end products and the make more price conscious products. The Phantom Jacket is one of these. As far as styling goes, it's great. As far as function goes....well, you get what you pay for.

This jacket is critically seam sealed, meaning the seams are taped on the shoulders, upper chest and sleeves and is rated 5,000 mm's waterproof. For the casual snowboarder who wants to look good and will be riding in mostly fair conditions this jacket will work great. If you plan on riding alot in any and all conditions then I think you'll need a higher quality jacket.

No, but you can't usually go wrong with Burton soft-goods. Usually a good construction and will do the job.
Do a search for Snowboard Forums and ask there.

Burton is a good brand. Keep the receipt, but I'm betting you'll really like it.
