Yes he was around in the 1960's and recorded on the Parlaphone label.As well as the song you mentioned he also recorded Feel so Blue,She's my Girl,Love,Love,Love,Who wouldn't love a girl like that,How could you do a thing like that to me,Lonely is as lonely does and,A little like you.The songs were recorded in 1962,1964,1965,and 1966.

Bobby Shafto's real name was Robert Farrant and lived in Hornsey,North London.He worked in Lionel Bart's music office which kicked off his music career.
He appeared for awhile in the London stage production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'.
He is now retired from the music business/
