Get some silk trees to break the picket line and tell the real ones we dont need them! Or maybe find a nice shrubbery.

directly on humans - no buildings, no furniture, no firewood; no toilet paper.. no relief from sterile concrete, no shelter from sun or wind. loss of many phamacutiacls like Neem & Taxan, and many foods needed for a healthy diet like nuts, apples
would the shrubs come out in sympathy? no tea or coffee.

then the impact on the environment: no water control - floods & drought; no cycling of nutrients; errosion; few birds; no absorbtion of CO2 & removal of atmospheric polltants.

So I would get round the negotiating table very quickly and give them everything they wanta (they probably don't want much, space to grow in freedom and live a long and unthreatened life), trees would have all the power - we need them for our basics of life, they definitly don't need humans.

I'd be 'rooted' to the spot, but I would try to 'branch' out and do something about it.
