this is not the norm, it is a bit advanced. just go with the flow and encourage the delevopment at her rate. This is a good thing. Don't push it, but just give her support. goodluck

My baby, like yours was lifting his head at only a few days old. He also tried to "hold" his bottle at 1 or 2 months. However, he was not successfully holding it until about 4 or 5 months and I thought that was early! He also was making a mmmm sound like mama at around the same time. He is almost 7 months now and just recently he has started rolling over and trying to crawl or scoot when he does. So, the crawling at 2 weeks does sound a little odd. People were always commenting on how alert my son was with eyes wide open ever since he was born. My mother-in-law told me that my husband did things early as well when he was a newborn. Maybe you should check with the grandparents too. Yes, all babies are on their own pace and different but basically these milestones generally all happen around the same time. The guidelines are set for what is average but things can happen a month earlier or one later. The trying to crawl at 2 weeks and holding the bottle at 4 weeks is what concerns me. Check with your babies pediatrician soon, maybe even get a second opinion from another MD as well. But if they are not worried about it, I wouldn't either. Just remember that just because she can do these things so early doesn't mean that she should. I wouldn't let her hold her own bottle without you helping her. Supervise her closely so that she does not harm herself when she is trying to crawl.

I think you might have the age of your baby wrong or the fact that you even had a baby. I was looking at your other questions and noticed 2 months ago you said you were 39 weeks pregnant and due on the 18th. That would make you due on July 18th. BUT a month ago you said you were 40 weeks and 2 days over due.
You need to get into some parenting classes. I can believe some of your stories but the others are totally unbelievable.

if you had a big baby (over 10-12 lbs)... some milestones might be occuring a little faster, but some might not be what they seem. In any case, a baby that young can't pull the bottle away if too much gets into her mouth -- and so, I don't think it's a good idea at all.

I have had 4 children who all developed differently, but what you wrote I would have to see to believe!!! Have never heard of any baby that could start crawling at 2 weeks!! You need to call the news media if all that is true, cause I'll bet none of us here have ever heard of that!!

This is a bit early for some of these steps. I would advise not letting her hold her own bottle except under supervision, so she doesn't choke. Otherwise, she sounds fine. If you are worried, call your doctor or talk to him when you go in for her first shots, which should be soon!

ALL babies develop at different rates. Your's just happens to be faster at the early stages is all. Probably by the time she reaches school age things will "level off" she might even be in the lower percentagewise in her classes at school. You'll just have to wait and see...though I wouldn't be enrolling her in college just yet.

Sounds like your child is doing things early, no such thing as too early. I was so happy when mine started holding his bottle, at about 6 weeks, my arm was also very happy.

All babies advance in their motorskills at their own pace. Your baby seems unusually young to do what you wrote. Don't worry and just take lots of pictures. Enjoy your baby.
