Yes, why not? My wife were my friend, we were working for a company together. After a 3 years friendship(everyday fighting but u know great loves begin with fights) we understood that we love eachother.
We married 3 years ago and still i love my friend very much :)

it generally depends. some people feel awkward when they first go through the transition of friendship to relationship. but once they go through that stage, it's going to be a wonderful relationship.
one disadvantage is that if and when the relatiobship fails, the friendship ultimately will too. so it's all about whether or not you're prepared to take risks. =)

My wife was and still is my best friend. as just a friend she stood by me though one of my best friends dying w/ canser my grandmother passing away and a horrible seperation and divorce. nothing romantic about it during this. Everyone kept putting us as sleeping together because we would meet for lunch and let our kids play together s we decided to try dating eachother and it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. friends before anything

i was friends with my ex gf 4 2/3 years...we knew each other well and it was easyer to date cuz we knew everything about each other...but as time went on...she driffted away..now we dont talk..
whatever you do..choose wisely.cuz once dating a friend..if things go bad..you will loose everything
