Breastfeeding itself acts as a contraceptive and you are unlikely to get pregnant when you are breastfeeding the baby.Nature doesnot allow a ovum to be released hence you will not have periods for quite a long time after delivery and if you are breast feeding.Periods wont come because no ovum is produced and uterus has no reason to weep. But if you had your menses than you will have to take contraceptive and has no effect on the child you are feeding because contraceptives contain only natural hormones which is already present in your body.

Yes you can. It's called "the mini-pill" which is a progesterin-only pill. Because it doesn't have all the same hormones as regular birth control, it will not interfere with breastfeeding.

Im sure that you can take the mini pill or you can have an IUS (coil) fitted, but your doctor would tell you what is best.

hmmmm...check with your dr. i'm sure a condom would be perfectly fine, but not the pill because that would get into your baby's system.
