Eurostar is your best bet - two-and-a-bit hours to Brussels, then change for a train to Aachen. Since checking in time is only half-an-hour, and the train leaves from Waterloo, it will be way quicker than trying to fly. (A hell of a lot more comfortable, too.)

The wonderful site www.seat61.com will give you lots of information on how to do it, or you could try 'phoning the German railway's UK office direct: 08702 43 53 63.

Good luck!

Düsseldorf a 45 min. trip with the train, or use a rental. Or fly to Maastrich(Belgium) but not sure if they have an airport?
But as I said Düsseldorf is your best bet.

the closest airport is from eindhoven to stansted, from maastricht there are only flights to berlin schönefeld. the flights would be with ryanair, and it is possible to do it in one day, check the ryanair site. i don't know if the aix-airport express exists still and if they go to eindhoven.
