We upgraded from a X800 to an X850 but random power loss was happening with the addition of the power demanding X850, so we switched back to the X800 as a temporary solution, now Windows is just a black screen.

The re-replaced X800 will display BIOS and that loading screen with the Windows logo, but the splash screen and desktop all appear as black. There is sound so we know Windows is there.

I just want my AutoCAD to come back!!!!

Don't listen to anyone who tells you to boot to safe mode! Your safe mode probably doesn't even work!
Maybe if you unplug at least two of the system fans and unplug the floppy drive that'll free up power to reinstall the X850.

did you uninstall the radeon drivers before reverting back to the x800? if not, follow the directions of the first answer, that's the best way to go
