Is there a price for self respect? If you know the definition you wouldn't even have asked the question. Not for sale, is priceless!
Thoughts or ideas can be bought .

Books are thoughts of the authors a piece of themselves put on the page. Reporters it is often the same. Politicians sell there ideas on how to govern the nation. That phrase a penny for your thoughts. Most things can be bought but with your thoughts you can choose which to sell and which to leave hidden. I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.

From my point of view, although I have not lost my self confidence or self esteem, I often wonder whether I have already somehow sold it.. I mean, how many times do I have to compromise at work (to say the least) by bearing along with some 'innocent' yet in essence offensive remarks, or underestimating the quality and the usefulness of my work, or even uninvited humor by colleagues and superiors.. never mind what we think we have obtained in our workplaces.. the vast majority of people out there work because they have to stay alive, and they are making daily compromises that they wouldn't have otherwise..and that's just one life domain

Depends on the situation. What do you want me to do? And yes, thoughts can be bought all the time. Look at Congress. Those bums get "bought" into thinking the laws they create help us by big business all the time. Both parties. They're all crooked.

Try out for a reality T.V. show and answer that question yourself. I'm giving you my thoughts for free, right now, but my self respect is well intact!
