It's really bugging me. I mean what's the point in having a girl band if only one of them sings? Why doesn't she just be a solo singer? I don't normally get so riled by such triviality, but each time I switch on a music channel and see one of their videos, I get more and more riled, and I need someone to explain to me why this is the case. The end.

Surprie Surprise the leading lady is prob gonna go solo by this time next year, she was in an interview t'other day saying she had been working on solo stuff and has dueted with puffy diddy whats-his-name....! i think what happens in a band like that is when they start out in the clubs etc they get the best singer to purr at all the audience while the rest gyrate etc around her... its a surefire way to get where they wanna b- and fast!! its a pity that when bands do become big and popular that the lead guy or gal is sometimes enticed into doing solo stuff and the rest of the band have to suffer...! but a pussycat dolls gotta do what a pussycat dolls gotta do !

She's probably the lead singer. The others are there to back her up, plus if you think about it, they get more attention as a girl group than if the lead singer went solo on her own, in a group its much easier to get attention, and as a solo singer she would struggle for a while before people would take notice.

Because the others can't sing as good as the lead, that's why..not to mention their a manufactured band, all they are is eye candy for the music industry, to make them look good!
Give or take 2-3 yrs they'll split anyway, as others will want to do their own thing , it happens with all girl and boy crappy bands...
Its not like they'll be missed either, I mean come on, they had one good single after that it was simply drivel!

She lacks the self-esteem required to be more than eye candy, even if she can sing. I believe there is a conspiracy of sorts in media circles that focus on women's entertainment as well as the general music industry against women. They do not value artist development and do not support women's acts. So many pop/rock stars are expected to show skin these days that it is ironic that Amy Lee is criticized for being overweight, a little, and refusing to walk around looking like Christina Aguilera.

In a group like theirs they dont pay for their tours or recordings. When the main girl in the pussycat dolls started she probably didnt have enough money for this so she joined a group

I think then If she went solo it would be a hassle finding the right name for her-- she couldn't remain the pussycat dolls if it were her on her own.. Never noticed it myself but hey thats music for ya..
The others aren't strong enuf vocally to be able to share her fame

to tell u the truth i totally agree whats the point having a band when only one sings. i have heard one left due to this.it makes the songs boring cos you are only listening to one voice. i do like them but it be different to hear someone else be lead singer. i think its because i dont know for sure but i think its cos she got the stronger voice. i aint sure though. Come girls lets hear something different

i thot i was the only one who wondered that.... and why are they soooooo many???? that lead girl should just take up a solo career and earn more bucks for herself rather than having to share with all those other girls, dolls, pussycats whatever u wanna call them..

The other girls do sing. The lead singer was on the show POPSTARS. She actually made the group but the group didn't do to well.
