...after awhile the band went underground or brokeup, fans then keep looking for them and later on listen to them. It's really stupid.

That is not the case at all....

Look at bands like Iron Maiden or Judas Priest, Saxon, Motorhead... or even a band like Pantera.

These are all famous and hugely popular bands, what people don't like are bands who it hit big, and then change their musical style (normally in an attempt to win an even larger following rather than musical inspiration, for want of a better term).

For example a band like metallica, which were one of the best bands in metal suddenly changed their direction into something much more 'commercial'.

While they might sell more records, I think they have lost a lot of their old early fans respect - as their music has definitely lost something.

Its basically because some metal and rock fans only believe that a band is good if they are not "mainstream" which is pretty stupid because a band that is absolutely awesome is bound to become mainstream because they are that good. They also think that a band that becomes famous is a "sellout" which is also stupid because whilst the band is in it for their love of good muisic and desire to share it with the world why shouldnt they make a bit of money on the way?

If you think a band is good and are really a loyal supporter of them you will love them no matter what, whether they become famous or whether they release a **** album or whetever else they may do to piss you off.
