Rock:
Summertime Blues - Blue Cheer
Run Run Run - Jojo Gunne

Pop:
Spirit in the Sky - Norman Greenbaum
Signs - 5 Man Electric Band

Novelty:
Monster Mash - Bobby "Boris" Pickett
Jungle Fever - Chakachas

And then there's these two songs that represent the only singles by these artists to hit the top 40 as single releases:

All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix Experience

OK this is gonna sound weird but when I was little there was a band of boys called The Moffats. For some reason I used to listen to them all the time. My dad would complain about how it sounded like a chipmonk version of Dolly Parton, lol.
The song was Caterpillar Crawl.
I never heard of them since then.

Nice question

Snoopy VS. The Red Baron by The Royal Guardsmen.

Now I know that there was a Snoopy Christmas song by them too, but it was no where near as successful as the first. And come on, almost that entire album was Snoopy related. Get a better gimmick.

The Macerayna - Don't no if my spelling is correct, but hey...

Great song, and it had like 20 different music videos. The origanel, christmes, and so many others it would be hard to mention all.
