YOU MEAN A "PINATA" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YEAH, THAT'S WHAT IT'S CALLED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TRY BUYING IT AT A PARTY STORE BECAUSE THERE YOU'LL BE ABLE TO PURCHASE IT IN THE CHARACTER OF HIS CHOICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OR IF YOU INSIST:

How to make a pinata

The pinata game is something very usual during parties . It consists on a varied recipient stuffed with sweet and goodies. A boy or girl is chosen to break it . After blindfolding his eyes, he is provided with a stick or cane to break the pinata that is hanging from a rope over his head. The other boys must indicate him if he is close or far from it.

Once the pinata is broken, the interior candies scatter on the floor and the other looking boys must hurry up to catch as many candies as they can.

It is a very amusing game that makes public laugh when it observes as the boy or girl misses the blow .

The necessary materials are: Balloons (one is enough), newspaper paper, white paste, scissors, tempera and water.

Inflate the balloon and make a knot to prevent the air to escape. The size of the pinata depends on the dimension of the globe. The bigger the balloon is, the bigger the pinata will be.

Take some newspaper sheets and make ribbons with them. Using a container, mix white glue and water in equal parts.

Now the most creative process comes. Dip the newspaper ribbons into the mixture and stick them on the surface of the globe as if you were applying a bandage. Cover the balloon with 3 or 4 layers of ribbons, one on the other till you make a sort of paper coat.

Wait 2 or 3 days so the glue becomes dry. Having noticed that the paper has formed a very hard shell ( Knock at it to listen to a hollow sound), take some scissors to make a hole at one side of the balloon. ( This will be the place we will put the candies through)

The last step consists on painting the pinata. . Catch the temper you prefer and paint it applying diverse layers until you obtain the desired effect.

Allow it to dry for some hours and you will already have your pinata done. You only have to stuff it with candies, to tie it a string and to hang it.

Invite your friends to see the first blindfolded one who is able to break it!

Easy!
Make a Cat! ....
Blow up a large balloon and cover the whole thing in papier mache ('technical term'!)using any paper you like - kitchen roll, newspaper, tissue paper etc - just try and keep the whole thing as smooth as possible. At the top end (where the balloon is tied off) make two papier mache triangles which you attach spaced apart, with more papier mache. Position on top of a support (or make a support to attach for it to stand on anyway) and leave the whole thing to dry out for two or three days (don't pop the balloon at this point). Once dried, paint cat details on - the eyes, nose, mouth, whiskers, paws and tail - add any kind of cat detail you like, like a plain black and white cat or a ginger tabby cat. Allow this to dry out again, for about a day (remember the papier mache has got wetted again). When dried, cut around the balloon with a sharp knife or blade (with care) to create a head and body sections, large enough to put a hand in (the balloon at this stage will have popped and you can peel it out from inside). Use a diluted PVA glue solution (1part pva to 4 parts water) to seal all the painting, and inside too (this allows it to take a few knocks and seals it, making it fairly waterproof). Allow to dry for another day or so. Hey Presto! One 'cat' sweetie container!! (You could paint any animal that would fit the balloon shape - dog, lion, tiger, penguin.....) Happy creations!

Use soft chicken wire or a balloon trick twisted into the shape of the specific animal required. Then paper mache over the frame leaving a hole somewhere conspicious to add the sweets (and popping the balloon with a pin if necessary) and allow to dry. Once dry, paint and fill with sweets!

I've made paper mache pigs and pandas pinitas using a balloon and some old card egg packaging for a snout and legs. I used newspaper to build it up and then crepe paper for color, You don't need glue, just mix some flour and water, but I would give it atleast 2 days to dry doing it this way. I bet your child would have alot of fun helping make it....word of warning though, it's a messy process! Have fun!!!!

you know its less stressful to just buy it from a store that carries kiddy party stuff. You need a mold to follow, then tear up too many pieces of paper, make or get glue, stick those pieces of paper unto the mold about 3-4 times all over and then wait for it to dry up for about 1 week before you can take it out of the mold carefully then unite the two sides once more, paint it up and use something to hang it up with....... better to just buy. The kids are just going to destroy it anyway....

The other answerers give good advice - just remember the process of making a pinata is very time-consuming. I made one many years ago and it was an absolute bind. Shops like Tesco sell real beauties in a range of varieties. A quick Yahoo search will give you a number of other commercial outlets. HANG ON....Saturday 4th?

you can buy pinatas. i have seen them in Woolworths. it would be fun to make, which will require you to build a frame ,or blow a large balloon and add the mache to it , into the desired animal.
go to www.partyrama.co.uk,where the technique is explained.

it could take a while to build ,so perhaps buying one is the easier option.this can be done at www.sleepovercompany.com, telephone number 08703002010.

enjoy it!
