Are teenage girls more shy when they are near the boys they like? So shy that she won't even dare to look at him and talk to him, despite the fact that the boy is trying to begin a conversation?

oh yeah. that's true. i mean i'm talking from experience, that's what i'm going through now. i like this guy and i can't even look him in the eyes, though i like him al lot. i just get all blushed and silent when he's around. so it's no myth.

it is in fact a sign of good behaviour. why should a girl dare to look or talk to a boy, when there is no need at all. it depends on that girl whether to join the conversation or not. if she is not willing you should understand that she is not interested in establishing any continued friendship with that person. one should be shy to do a shabby act, not otherwise. they can be always cheerful.

depends on the girl....
some will get shy and nervous and be scared of talking in case she *shudder* says the wrong thing...
some will get arrogant and bossy and basically try to hide their feelings by expressing the polar opposite of them (ie. i tease you 'cos secretly i like you)...
some will just be nice and open and friendly. some will not act any differently.
unfortunately teenage girls as a whole are a bit of an enigma: a mystery wrapped in a puzzle. i would not suggest trying to work them out... i never worked them out and I used to BE one!
