Fun is Republican vs Democrat.
I had to once debate for the affirmative - "There is no difference between the Republican and Democratic parties."
The research was interesting and a bit eye opening.

if you really get into it, you'd be years geting through just a small part. if you just want it simple, it wouldn't be difficult to write about on or two differences, such as how farms work or manufacturing differs. keep it narrow and use generalizations to illustrate, but don't go into too much detail.
