Most of the business for sale websites let you advertise for free but charge the buyer a subscription to view the listing or charge you a fee to list the business and let the buyer view for free. (www.bizbuysell.com charges a seller $59 a month for an ad)

There are also free classified ad sites like www.craigslist.org. You will have to post your ad on a daily basis otherwise it won't be seen consistently. Not all areas let you do that, for example the los angeles craigslist charges for real estate ads so you would be paying $25 a day. In the New Orleans market all of the ads are free. It doesn't hurt to try.

I am giving away secrets but you will also want to list on the commercial real estate database loopnet at http://www.loopnet.com/?linkcode=10

It is free to subscribe and you can add a listing but you have to pay to have the ad spotlighted. It is not too expensive and worth it. I am not sure if you can register if you are not in real estate. If not let me know and we can work out a listing fee and I will put it on.

You can go to a search engine and put in free business listings and you will be amazed at the sites that are there. Be careful though, as some will list you business for free, but when someone accesses that site and wants to contact you, well, that's is when some charge to communicate with the person inquiring. So it's best to include your business address and any worth while person wanting more info will just simply look up the address and contact you directly. Contact me directly and I will supply you with some free sites and small fee sites as well: U.S. Professional@hotmail.com. Please include in the subject line Yahoo Question so you don't go to the junk file or be deleted.
