because
1. we all know theyd elect Islamic leaders against the US
2. he currently give billions, literally, to corrupt dictator regimes like egypt and SA

why would he pretend his aim is that which is diametrically opposed to his real and obvious aim

level eight- the opposite, that is, he wants pro-US dictators that will at against the will of their ppl by supporting US/israel. if arabs had democracies, theyd all elect islamic leadership and israle would almost instantaneously cease to exist, we wouldnt get oil for next to nothing and if we did get oil it would be conditional on a fair foreign policy. US would not want this democracy- it would be a disaster.

Democracy would be the worse thing that could happen to the middle east. you would be forcing a form of government into this region that it has never known. These people still believe that it's a bad thing to separate religion and politics. Whenever they come to realise that it's a necessity for good state organisation, they can start discussing democracy. Before that time don't even try. This will require a great shift in muslim belief and that can only be done by the people themselves. So time and patience are the only cure. The problem with Bush is that he doesn't give a rat's a s s about the people in the Middle East(he doesn't even care about his own people) so he'll pretend to try and do good while he is exploiting their oil.

He was not elected democratically, it was Gore so that makes him a dictator. Second time around, Princeton University have proved how easy it is to steal votes using the voting machines. Remember, the machines were made by the Republican donor. In Ohio there were voting problems. One station only had 800 voters but 2000 votes were cast in favor of Bush. Peter G do u think this country is seperating religion and politics, not any more.

Well, Mr. Bush can't answer as he's in office right now. You could, however, ask Mr. Clinton or Mr. Carter the same question as they supported the same regimes.

BTW, the war was never about democracy. it was about Weapons of Mass Destruction, remember?
