Yes he still does.
By the way tell you some jokes:
-Doctor! I have a serious problem, I can never remember what i just said.
-When did you first notice this problem?
-What problem?
One more joke:
A guy calls his vet and says "What should I do with my cat?Vet says "What do you mean? Guy says "I had a leak in my lawnmowers gas tank and the cat drank the gas. Then the cat began to run around and around the yard, climbed a tree. then fell out of the tree stiff. Vet says "Is the cat dead? Guy replies "nope he ran out of gas.

Some things will never change. No matter what happens during an episode, you can always count on the following truths in the next episode... Bart will always be 9 years old and in the 4th grade. Mr. Burns will never REALLY die. Maggie will maintain her oral fixation with the pacifier (probably an inherited trait from her smoking aunts). Homer will always work in the plant. We hold these truths to be self evident...

He always has, except the many times he has said he was fired, but he is always back the next episode, and then there was the time he went to work for Hank Scorpio, great episode, but he ended up back at the plant once he found out Hank was a terrorist.

Some parts of the Simpsons series are not continuous, this could be one of them. They do joke about how he barely has a job anymore, so the mystery is not lost on the writers.

I never seem to see him at the plant either, I suppose he does but there's just now much stories to be made about it anymore. He's always home and bart and lisa don't seem to be at school that much either, but same story there too I guess, not much stories.
