I think you mean - 'Prince is still the 'symbol'.

I don't judge people by hype. I look at what they say, do and write. Every song ever written by Prince is strongly heterosexual. In fact, he gained his notoriety in the 1980's through his highly erotic lyrics, his sexy singing style and his racy music videos, concerts - and his collaboration - and friendship - with many famous female artists.

The 'symbol' might look just like a combination of the male and female symbols. I doubt so. Prince is also a spiritual dude. The symbol, probably his own invention, could have been inspired by astrological symbols, or other ancient symbols not commonly known to us.

'I just can't believe all the things people say.
Controversy.
Am I black or white, am I straight, or gay?
Controversy.
Do I believe in God?
Do I believe in me?
Controversy.'
- Prince

Who cares? He's a musician, who changes the spelling of his name from time to time. I still like little "Little Red Corvette" and "When Doves Cry"
