I believe it is because they are insecure, and afraid of their own sexuality, or... afraid they cannot live up to the same inner strength of gay men. or... (joke kind of) it might rub off!

I have straight guy friends who treat me good. You have some men who are insecure with gay men because they don't want nobody to think they're gay or to have another man flirt at them. When in fact some straight men don't even have to worry because they may not be my type. I have had straight guys ask me if they look attractive/cute too but the truth be known a straight guy knows when another guy looks cute or not.

The question overgeneralizes, as so many here do. Straight guys are not a homogeneous group who all think and act alike, any more than gays and bis are all exactly alike. We are all individuals, and what is true for one might not be true for another. There is no "one way" that all straight guys, without exception, behave, towards gays or anything else, so asking why they act in that "one way" is a pointless question.

I have many a straight friend. They treat me like I am one of the guys, no differently. They flirt with me a lot to, but that's another story. They love the attention that I might service them at any moment, though I wont. They just like the extra attention. And they no I have good advice when it comes to women. But Straight guys have to earn your respect. You have to show them you are on their level, whether that means to beat their Behinds in a fight or beat someone who harasses you in front of them. They will give you the respect. Most feel if your gay your a sissy or girlie man! Show them otherwise.

As a gay man, I seldom, if ever, have had problems with a straight man alone. The problem is when they have to prove themselves in a group, or even to individual friends. The real problem is how GROUPS treat gays; some Christian groups is a great example.

well 1st of all not all straight men treat gay men badly...I have some good straight friends and coworkers who treat me just like they treat everyone else....I think there are some straight guys who treat gay guys badly because they really are afraid that they might be attracted to men...and I think that there are straight guys who just don't understand that we are no threat to them and then there are the ones who treat us well(those are the ones who are most secure in their sexuality)..I guess what I'm really saying is that there are multiple reasons.

My best friend is str8 and most of the str8 men I know are very open-minded and accepting of my sexual orientation. I think a man that treats gay men with hostility or rudeness is either insecure of his sexuality or a homosexual in major denial.

I have no problem with gay guys, I know quite a few. If a straight guy has a problem with a gay man (in my experience) it means he questions his own sexuality.

It depends on if the gay person is male or female. If the gay person is male, most likely they will be treated badly. If the gay person is female, they will be treated like royalty. You know guys like a little girl on girl action.

Probably cause they are uncertain how to treat them. People are generally scared of things they odo not understand... Nothing to worry about unless they get agressive and violent... Than leave right now... hmm
