You know they could end up with Adrian Peterson

Reggie Bush would have had no line in front of him for him to start running in Houston. While he is obviously a great player Houston just don't have the team to allow him to play to his full potential!

If they had taken him he would have had no chance of playing well for them as the opposing defensive line would just be straight through the Houston line and tackle him for no gain or a loss on most of the carries he had!

The smarter thing to do was in one of the earlier answers! Take him and trade him! However, i think Mario Williams will improve and become a better player over the next few years and that is what Houston need more!

How easy do you think it would be for Houston to trade Bush for 2 veteran players? How many decent vets would want to go to Houston at the moment anyway??

So yes i think they where smarter than people are giving them credit for as long as Mario performs to the level people think he can! Only time will tell!

Unfortunately for Adrian... yes he'll have to go play for the Texans next year.

And yeah I know.... they felt like they had their guy in Dominic Davis.... maybe they did... but guess what, all of a sudden he's out for the season... and now they're scrambling around all crazy trying to find a number 1 back. I think God injured Davis to show the Texans owner how bad of a job he's doing. If there's a lesson to be learned from this it's that you always take the best player in the draft.... no matter the circumstance.... point blank period.

They thought Wali Lundy could get it done but he can't quite do it. Vernon Morency shows promise, but he's not ready to be a 20 carry a game guy.... so they sign Ron Dayne.... but he needs blocking to be effective so scratch him.... now they make a trade to bring in Gado from Green Bay, and he looks like he's lost.

Unless they convert Mario Williams into a tail back that rushes for 1100 yards they're up sh** creek without a paddle and there's a water fall up ahead !!!!

And you know what else.... It wouldn't surprise me if they passed on a Peterson next year to bring in another defensive player. That organization just doesn't like going forward, they rather put it in reverse first.

No it was not a smart move. 2 weeks in and we can see that they are unable to move the ball through the air. There protection of Carr has improved and he played a good game on Sunday. However if they had Reggie Bush they would have been able to improve there anemic running game. This would have helped the passing game also. This decision could haunt the franchise for years to come.

It is popular to bash the Texans for not drafting Bush, but they made the right choice. Remember most of the criticism has come not from NFL people, but from the media who seemed insulted that the Texans didn't regard their "expert" evaluation as gospel. The Chiefs couldn't even make the playoffs with Holmes and Johnson. A bad team needs to improve its defense to start winning. Flashy backs are exciting, but it takes a complete team to win. If both Williams and Bush remotely live up to expectations, the Texans will be vindicated in a few years.

no considering Dominic Davis burnt them again with season ending injury. They have to be the biggest idiots in sports to pass on a running back like Reggie Bush.

It's not looking like it since their defense sucks worse than ever w/ that dope they drafted. This organization is in total disarray. I really feel for those fans who got raped by morons in the front office. That's not to say Bush is going to be the MVP of the league this yr but he's definately going to be better than ANY Texan defensive end this yr.

I think they made the right decision. RB is not their main problem- any decent running back will do if the line is solid; Bush would not have fixed this team- they just have so many things that need fixed that there is no way one player is going to have a major impact.

They are stupid for passing on Reggie for one reason. Putting people in the seats. They would still be 0-2 but at least people would show up to see him.

No, and now it's come back to haunt them with Dominick Davis out for the year. They have Ron Dayne and Travis Henry I beleive as running backs now. They will be lucky to win 3 games this year.
