I need to know how to get the most out of the wax

There are several types of candles, parrafin, beeswax(burns withoutsoot) and vegitable wax. To make candles from raw materials could be dangerous unless you know how it is safely done!

Don't you listen to all those above!!!!!
The simple way to make a candle last longer is to paint with varnish (nail varnish will do).
The shell around the candle stops it from dripping thus saving wax and makes the candle last for ages.
The nail varnish just disappears.
Give it a try you won't be disapointed.

To help make a candle last longer apparently it's best to keep it in the fridge before lighting.

i dont understand.

If you mean how do you make a candle stay alight for longer, then my answer would be to have the candle in a reduced Oxygen environment.

Put it in the fridge to keep them cool! Then they burn longer!!!
