Tell her to calm down. Being prego isn't sexy or hot and it doesn't need to be. It's beautiful and it's nature. Wear what fits and is comfortable and enjoy being pregnant. Nobody cares what you look like so get over it.

Motherhood usually has a pretty good variety of clothes. If she likes The GAP, they also have a maternity section but not in all the stores...so she might have to order online through The GAP. I had a hard time too...it seemed like everything was for older women.

I don't know where you live, but here we have a store called
"Motherhood Maternity" and they have really cute, stylish clothing. It's kind of expensive, but it's a great place to shop, especially if you work at a business where you have to dress nice.

And just because a person is pregnant does not mean they have to look like a bum. It's the pregnant people who like to look nice and show it off at the same time that look cute being pregnant.

i know how she feels, i went to macy's and bought bigger size pants and baby doll shirts ONLY to find that i've wasted my money. lolz. see i love jeans and the only way i can wear jeans is maternity jeans which! isn't so bad. i love'em actually, they are so comfortable. also, the baby gives you a hard time if you don't wear comfy clothes. being pregnate can be sexy to certain extents but tell her we arent celebs... for they can spend fortunes having stuff made exactly for'em. we gotta stick to what we have... like mimi maternity or motherhood....i go to target! hehe! she should just try stuff on before judging... she'd be surprised. good luck!

Tell her to try Motherhood and Old Navy they have really cute clothes. I hated maternity clothes but I learned to cope with it, after all it's only nine months.

There are lots of beautiful maternity clothes out there. how can she not find one she likes? it's weird.
anyway, Ask her to wear some comfortable maternity clothes instead. it doesn't matter if it's nice-looking or not, most importantly she feels comfortable wearing. it's good for her and the baby. if she feels comfortable, her baby feels the same way.

motherhood is a good store, but it IS expensive. but really, the bigger i got, the more i just wanted to be comfortable rather than look cute! i just ended up buying bigger size clothes most of the time. i had a few maternity outfits but only wore them a couple times. COMFORT is more important!

Karen's Maternity has a listing of a bunch of maternity stores. I'm sure with enough browsing she'll find something she likes.

i agree with some of the other posters.
just buy a few sizes bigger than what you would normally wear.
keep in mind the word stretch...stretch pants to be exact
for example: i am a plus size gal. i have several friends who are also plus size, so i asked them what size to get. i am not pregnant right now but at least when i do become pregnant i will know what size t buy. my friend suggested two sizes bigger than what you would normally wear. but i would still get one or two specifically maternity outfits.

Target has great pants. For tops, I used to just get the nice stretchy tunics. They would stretch nicely over my belly, and I didn't feel like I was wearing a tent. I was also able to wear them after birth, because they would shrink right back, and I gained 40lbs, all in the front.

Instead of trying to find maternity clothes, try finding largerclothes from name brands or other that will fit. This way its easier to find them and in she wants she can sell them at a later date
