Part of the problem might be that you are a little dehydrated. This can be especially noticeable in the morning because you've had nothing to drink all night. Also, maybe you have a dust allergy and you are breathing in dust while sleeping.

you have a serious case of GERD you need to see a dr for a gastroscope ASAP you have a hiatal hernia i'm sure , gastritis probably H pyloric and gastric ulcer peptic ulcer and if your anything like me i am allergic to prilosec and nexium i am on zantac now and feel better I also had hyper-plastic polyps in my stomach 2006 i had 5 polyps benign they grow due to long term use of PP nexium prilosec type RX 2008 i had 1 i just got my results so start eating a RICE diet or potato cream of rice oatmeal and yogurt with the active enzymes like activa no alcohol no smoking no caffeine no oj , eat bananas sorry elevate your head at night don't eat after 5 pm drink lots of water no carbonation , if you can drink weak green tea i am taking VIT E VIT D VIT Bs can't hurt until you see a DR, are you losing wt? you could have a gastric cancer so don't wait too long drs take CC now sorry

Go to your GP and check your sinuses. Otherwise it may an allergic reaction or hay fever. I often have it beginning and end of summer.

Sounds like the same symptoms I had and it became a full fledged cold along with a sinus infection,Good luck at getting better

I have the same & its driving me mad - its a viral infection I have been told by my GP & its 'doing the rounds' I fiind lemsip sinus tablets before bed ease it a bit

might be an allergic reaction - vacuum the mattress & change the sheets and see if it gets better - also Otrivin has good products to prevent allergic reactions.

could be allergies. try a simple antihistamine. if it goes away thats what it is, either allergies or sinus trouble.
