I need to find somebody who is knowladgable in alternative med. I have some conditions and one of them they are giving me meds for has made me MUCH sicker and actually ended up I had to have a surgery and am still having much problems that the surgery was suppost to help. I also am trying to find natural ways to help with chronic pain and REALLY bad anxiety. I am tired of being on major medacine and it not helping. I also suffer from insomnia and sleeping pills do not help nor does melatonin. If somebody could please help with some ideas. I will have health insurance starting next month but I have spen so much time with doctors and it has not helped so now I feel like I need to see what nature can do for me.

Please consider a visit to a naturopath. He/she will be able to tell if there are appropriate alternative and complimentary therapies to help bring you back into balance. Check with your local health food store to see if there is one in your area that they would recommend. Another option is to find one on the internet. I work in a health food store that is owned by a natropathic doctor. The first thing you need to get is "5-HTP". It is a endogenous, intermediate Amino Acid formed from Tryptophan. Exogenous 5-Hydroxytryptophan is manufactured as a supplement as a means of bypassing the first step in the production of endogenous Serotonin.

Medications are 4th leading cause of death in USA-@ 100,000 annualy. It is estimated that 40% of medications are for the side effects of other medications.

Pain killing is not really part of alternative medicine. Pain is your body telling you there is a problem that you need to fix or it is part of the healing process. If it is chronic you must find the cause and fix it or it could cause an early grave.
