This isn't sexual! Tonight someone wanted me to call and talk to another woman's husband to get some answers. I think it's wrong. Men stick with men and women stick with women (this isn't about dating, it's about friendship). When I said I wasn't about to call and talk with another woman's man they said that's all in my head and no one else thinks like that! I'm not a kid either! Aren't there unwritten rules for this?

I think a couple of you misunderstood the question. I'm not a little kid getting involved in other people's realationships!!
I'm in a 12 step program and it was suggested to me to call this guy to discuss things about recovery!

If I call another person's house asking for their husband I usually start out like this: Hi..My name is ****** and I am from (whatever program you are in). I would then say would you mind if I speak to ******. I do this out of respect for the partner and not to get the gentlemen in trouble. If you are honest and straight forward I believe that is the best direction to go. I would not call for someone else because that it just game playing in my opinion.

If it's to talk about recovery then it's okay. Call/talk to his wife and let her know the purpose of the call if you're afraid of stepping on her toes. I'm sure she would appreciate the help with the issue, she lives with it and may be of benefit to his recovery.

You don't need to meet his wife to talk to her. If you were serious about helping in his recovery, you'd befriend the wife for her support as well.

I admire and commend you for your thoughful respect. As a married woman I admit that I am driven by mad jealousy. Yes, one of my faults that I have to work on. Are you and the wife friends? Why not ask her the question?

I think you did the right thing. It is wrong to call another woman's husband/boyfriend. Unless you are calling him for your husband/boyfriend. Like my boyrfriend asks me to call his friend who happens to be married.

IT DEPENDS ON WHAT SHE WANTED YOU TO CALL FOR. IF IT WAS SOMETHING IMPORTANT OR IF SHE DIDN'T TRUST YOU SHE WOULDN'T HAVE ASK YOU TO DO IT. HE DIDN'T CARE THAT HE WAS MARRY WHEN HE WAS MESSING AROUND WITH YOUR FRIEND.SO WHY SHOULD YOU CARE IF HE IS MARRY YOU COULD HAVE BLOCK YOUR NUMBER (*69)AND FOUND OUT WHAT SHE WANTED. AND SHE IS NOT EVEN SLEEPING WITH HIM.
