I'm for it.

If two people are in love they should have the right to be miserable, just like straight people!

Lol, but seriously, if two people love eachother they should be able to make a commitment of their love that is protected by law. With civil unions there are many benefits that would apply to a spouse, but not a partner. Including health insurance and other necessities. Why should they be denied these rights just because of their sexual preference?

At one time African-Americans were not allowed to marry, and we look back on these times with shame at our ancesors ignorance. Thats not how I want my grandchildren looking at our generation. Who are we to judge? You can't control who you fall in love with!

By defination there is no such things as a gay marriage.

From the beginning of time, a marriage is a legal and holy union between a MAN & a WOMAN. It is a legal eniety entered to secure income and support should a man die and leave the children & or mother with an inheritence. A marriage is an agreement between a man & a woman who start a family.

Therefor marriage by definition doesn't enclude male/male relationships or female/female relationships.
You can't change Webster dictionary. But a new term might be created.
I personally believe God Created Man & Woman to be family.

Man on man can be partners...but by defination a family and or a marriage is between a man & an woman

I am against it . .but I am just an ignorant human. I am going to assume that the Jewish law about it is correct; because from my own perception there seems to be a hormonal imbalance created by same-sex relationship (but ALSO by the birth control pill); but as for 'enforcement' of 2 people who have feelings for each other of the same sex I think the only enforcement should be to deny marriage . .I'm personally against all sex but I believe (though it may be in ignorance) that there is a woman for every man to nurture each other and to avoid loneliness . ..and when these two people have not yet met I think it creates cruel anger in the female when the man is in homosexual relationship and when the female is the one in homosexual relationship I think it can cause the man to have homosexual feelings as well . . .I can understand a man wanting to be gay or feeling like he is gay because if I were a man I think I would want relationship with a man rather than a woman., But; thinking of religious law which if completely ignorant would not still be around .. .I would choose celibacy and try to work on why I dont have any feeling for women, not even friendship, as I'm doing now, as a female

To me it makes no sense for the Bible to say homosexuality is an abomination without it saying why God might think so; it shouldnt be perceived, in my opinion as a big harsh judgement against a peron's soul for having feelings; the religious perception should be explained because there is no room for judging when it comes to something so important to the human soul as love and romance.

I'm for it!! How would gay marriage effect the "Sanctity" of straight marriage? If two people, who love each other, want to marry, then why would it matter if they were the same sex. Think about the money they'd generate for the cities that they live in. Think about how hard it is for them with health concerns, inheritance, adoption issues. Gay people are discriminated daily, by all groups, in public with out any regard of a person's feelings. Imagine if you were to do that towards a person of ethnicity.....

I am not homosexual, but I am for homosexual marriage. Stop toting the bibles around, and really think about this without the use of text for once. Love is beautiful no matter what the case is. Love is never, in any circumstance, wrong. I have no problem with two people sharing a life together with the promise of commitment to one another. Homosexuals, like Heterosexuals, do not harm anyone in anyway by their sexual preferences. If they accept myself and my ways, how could I reject them and their ways? I would have to be a hateful person to imply that they are "diseased" or "perverted" for their feelings. I think a common misconception is that homosexuals are much like Pedophiles, which couldn't be further from the truth. Homosexuals are attracted to people in their age range that just happen to be the same sex, not children. Pedophilia is a mental illness, but Homosexuality is a preference. Homosexuals help out more than you think with adopting children in orphanages that need parents to love and take care of them. Don't ever tell me that they can not raise a family with love and support just like two Heterosexual parents could. To all of the Christians: I am a Christian too, but my God loves everyone and would not punish his children for love.

Against. Although a person should be allowed to have relationship with whosoever he wishes to, imagine a day in the future when a person will be allowed to choose whether to marry a boy or a girl. This doesnt sound alrite. We are changing years and years of tradition.

For it! Why should the gays get away with happiness while the rest of us get punished?
Seriously, I don't anyone should recieve a governmental "marriage". That's a religious cerimony. If you want to have a civil bonding of property and rights that's fine, but leave the religion out of it. That's probably why so many conservative Christians are up in arms; if it had nothing to do with religion I don't think they'd care.

Neither! But I am no homophobe!

Aside from being anti-gay, the right generally are against marriage, or partnership on a purely financial basis!

Gay 'Marriage'???!?!?!?

That is a perversion of the word marriage.

There is no such thing, if ur gay, it's just perversion.

I don't even use the word marriage. (Because that is NOT what it is!)

It doesn't exist for gays, and since it don't exist for gays, it's just 'shacking up' Just like a man & a woman who live together and don't get married, 'shackin' up'.

The bible notes it as: "An Abomination." (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13)
It was Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve!

God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. I am against it. Homosexuality is a sin and it is disgusting. If they want to call it 'same sex unions' or something like that, fine. But do not call it marriage. Marriage is for a man and a woman. Not homosexuals.
