release the pressure through the shrader valve on the fuel system. its like a tire valve but is either in the line or on the injector system. press the middle just like you woul;d if you were lletting air out of a tire. be careful about how much spray you get on you so you may want to use a rag to deflect or absorb it. it won't be much but the pressure it is under can squirt quite a distance.

It's always best to depressurise the fuel system before replacing a filter , You can often get away without doing it , But most of the time you will get a Petrol spray all over you , So a bit of a fire hazard .

Quickest way is to :-
1/ Remove Fuel Pump fuse or Relay
2/ Start car and let it run until it stalls
On some cars it may not run with the fuel pump Fuse/relay out , so crank the engine for 20 -> 30 Seconds and that should remove the pressure .

Don't forget the Fuel filter must go in the correct direction , The filter should have an Arrow on it and that should point in the direction of the motor .

on just a little crv just put a rag around the line and slowly back off the line on the filter.(its not a lot of pressure) but if you must there will be a valve that looks like the valve on your tire with a black lid screwed on it. on the fuel line or fuel rail, just depress it with a small screw driver. be sure to place a rag over it to. good luck

One way is to put a rag over the fittings then crack it open.
There is also a valve located on or neer the fuel rail, it looks like a tire valve. Push in the valve with a rag and a screwdriver. This pressure will disapate rappetly so it wont hurt anything
