you have to factor the equation.

in order to do that, you have to find the similiar thing with both sides. (in this case thats the 12)

then, you have to put that in front of your parenthesis then put the rest inside

it becomes: 12(r+s)

this is correct because if you were to use the ditributive property on the equation 12(r+s), you would come out to 12r+12s.
