In the same line of thinking, why are there so many evangelists 'spreading the word' and no atheists doing the opposite? Is it because atheists are 'accepting' of other peoples' rights to live their lives as they wish - or are the atheists afraid of the repercussions? Particularly from the Muslims?

The answers were much as expected - from a broad spectrum. From the deluded to the enlightened. I suppose that I asked the question in a serious manner in that it simply occurred to me and I typed it in without any time spent thinking about it myself. However, some of the answers were amusing, some were ridiculous and some were on the button.
By the way, the USA, of which I am not a part, is an aberration regarding the percentage of those who profess to being religious. Very different in the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Holland, etcetera, where the percentage is extremely low. Wake up USA! In NYSE we Trust?

I suppose because nobody ever bothered to start one.
It would, I suppose be hard to come up with regular programming. You could have philosophical discussions with guests about 'why we don't think God exists', maybe shows for children 'How you can live your life without God?`with fun stories about how kids can solve moral dilemmas without referring to God. Maybe a myth-debunking show. Something about science, where you give reasons to believe in evolution, etc..., etc...
My guess is you'd have a hard time getting sponsors and viewers, though. Sponsors don't want their name associated with it in America. As for viewers, they're either atheists or not. If they are atheists, they don't need convincing. If they're not, they'd likely be offended or not interested.
Don't know. Good luck.

I think it is because there is a huge misconception that athiests cannot be moral or make good choices. Therefore, an athiest channel must only air corruption, which is SO false. I was raised to think that athiests were athiests "on purpose" just to defy god. Well, when I got older I met some amazing athiests who live very moral lives, are kind and compassionate, and just have never been able to force a belief system. This really changed my perception because they were much more consistent in living clean and meaningful lives than many Christians I've met. I think that people need to at least get to know other kinds of people, not necessarily to change them or be changed, but to not be ignorant of what diverse people are really like. Stereotypes can crumble and make you a better person.

Good question!

TV watchers are called couch potatoes for a reason. Your rhetorical alternatives are not compatible with the believes nor lifestyles of atheists. They believe in engaging activities of life.

Why is there the need to broadcast truth if it is self evidence? The bias is on the religious -- Christians -- behalf due to their own particular abnormality of needing to influence others. It is almost impossible for them to tolerate differences -- as could be seen from these narrow minded questions above.

So - back to the question - Becouse Atheists shall whatch nothing :)
Anyway - There is nothing to be explained - becouse to be atheist is to develop understanding about universe different then other people - well - maybe not very correct in some casses, and developed some nasty ideas.
Hmm - maybe this is the point of your question
- How can unite deffer in developed ideas about universe in Atheists ?
- Well - this coud be interesting - but i have already "Discovery Chanel" and "National Geographic" plus some like "SCI-FI Chanel" seems far enought - united past + present + future.

"To be Atheist is some like to be a scientist and dreamer - To trust in yourself as a nature and to believe in one bright future :)"

There are television programs and radio shows out there that do just what you are talking about. Atheism is such a fringe movement that these things are often overlooked. Another reason is that most atheists don't really care to do anything. They are happy with their lives and they don't feel that religion intrudes to heavily into them. Those of us who do feel religion is a destructive force are more vocal, but we are a minority within a minority.

What could be its concern rely? a minimum of you will get reliable programming out of a few thing useful e.g. the Vicar of Dibley, Father Ted, Danish newspaper cartoons or perhaps The Archers make very reliable parodies the place faith is pronounced. as quickly as you have coated the easy disproofs of all religions Atheist television could replace right into a parody of itself, having no longer something to speak approximately.

Perhaps atheists are yet to get united on a common forum to think of it. Very difficult for atheists to come together. It is this Individualism that contributes most to becoming an atheist !

There are plenty of atheist TV channels. In fact, I would say that all of them are atheistic already. Atheism is already rampant in society and in fact, many of the so-called religious shows have very little to do with actual spiritual knowledge. What passes as religious is usually dogma, not real understanding of God consciousness.

Go ask one and see what he says. I don't think they are as devoted to their belief, and mostly cowards and want to hide it, as most Americans are Christians. There is free speech, so if they can get enough money together from their followers, then I am sure they could go on TV as well. It is just that no one wants to go public and let everyone know because they are ashamed of it, and would not be as popular. Is that living a lie, I think it is. Jesus had repercussions, and they killed him, would they be willing to put their life on the line for their belief, if so, why haven't we heard of it.
