boy did we ever open a can of worms!!! I am all cons... no pros... but if I were to spell out a major one... think about government.... At least 80% of the world (very relevant in the UN committee) is communist more or less. Would you really like to become one? Or much worse to be led by one in spite of your convictions? Believe you me, there's no freedom in communism, I came out of that 17 years ago, there's no going back for me, thank you very much. Not after I tasted freedom. Sooo, if you really like to see what it's like I suggest you travel far east and try to survive for one year there... you'll be different, I promise you! No single culture for me, thanks! I love variety but I love it even better when I come home!

Globalization threatens other cultures, ethnic groups and religions. With the effects of bad U.N. policy along with the WTO, World Bank, NATO and IMF, Africa is in a sea of debt and unable to deal with overpopulation, environmental degradation, war, homelessness, refugees, AIDS, cholera, etc.

People have a right to their traditional cultures. I am fine with immigrants and multiculturalism as long as I do not hear of neo-Nazi, Communist, anti-feminist and terrorist activity. Somebody beat up 35,000 Arab-Americans after Sept. 11 and they should all go to jail. Check with the Muslim Canadian Association and B'nai Brith about hate crimes, hate literature, etc.

It's already been tried, and failed.

The Council of Nicaea thought by creating Christianity, forcing everyone to adhere to it, and burning all books, scrolls, and people who disagree, they could create your one-world utopia.

It backfired so badly that their meeting ushered in the Dark Ages.

It makes no sense to try to limit people to 'one' of anything. Somebody always plays Martin Luther, or Mahatma Gandhi, or Malcolm X and breaks free of the stereotype.

If you're in doubt, re-read '1984' by George Orwell.

I don't want to be made to do and think like you, and I don't want to be like you. but to be one culture would end war for a while.

when the nasty bird flue comes we all will die for we are all the same and have the same defense.
