My clock in PC runs after it is opened, but stops when shuts down. next day i have to change the time again. shall i have to change the battery ?

hello priti,
u have to change your battery and then go to cmos setting and change date and time from there... if this problem occurs again and again then may be there is some earthing problem in your pc... normally 1 battery dont go down before a year...

when your computer is powerd off... a battery on your mainboard (cmos battery) ensures that date/time and some basic info is preserved...

if your time is off after a reboot it is a cmos battery "problem" FOR SURE!.

open your system case... locate the battery.. and replace it with a new one... (mind static electricity so you don't harm any of the components).

all you need is to change your CMOS battery. the BIOS setup will return to default settings, so you may have to make some changes like time and date and your boot device priority, etc..

I never had that kind of problem, but it's not necessary a hard problem, it could also be a soft malfunction...
