As a very very basic test, consider the people who would be affected by the course of action you are considering (almost all issues of right & wrong involve other people) then imagine yourself in their place, and think of how you'd feel if someone did what you are thinking of. If you'd be fine with it, then you're probably right. If it's not the way you think another person should treat you, then it's probably wrong.

If your instincts are good and have not let you down in the past, always go with your gut. If you are unsure about what's right, take the advice of trusted friends whose opinons you respect.
