You multiply each expression by the numeral on the outside of the brackets... so 6(h-4)

6 times h = 6h...

then 6 times -4 = -24

Answer is 6h-24

If you had a problem like -4(2h-3) you would go

-4 times 2h = -8h

-4 times -3 = 12

Answer is -8h+12

I hope that makes sense.

When factors, variables, or numbers/numerals are in parentheses, you muliply the outer term by EVERYTHING in the parens. The parenthetical bunch becomes like ONE NUMBER.

So, whatever h might be, you multiply 6 times the h, plus 6 times the negative 4 (--4)
and you get 6h --24, just like the other answers say.

No 5(3+p) would be 5p+15. You multiply the outside number for each number or variable inside.

the first problem is 6h - 24.

you have to distribute the number in front of the parenthesis(the 6) into everything inside the parenthesis. get it?

the answer to your second problem is 5p + 15

always start with whats inside the parathesis first! h-4 that give u a negative minus -h4, so take 6-h4 and subtract 6 from both sides. , this give u +6-6=0, so, subtract 6 from -4h and get -6-4=? when 2 negatives are present u do what , you add both number together and get 10 and your answer gets the biggest number sign which is "-"..........need any more help just ask
