Men would probably say "yes". It to me is only a small part of a relationship. I have had a partner that could not get an erection through illness. He gave up . I think it was getting to know each other, even if it is years is more important.

I think it is very important, but it probably isn't essential. If not, relationships with handicapped or people otherwise incapable of performing sexually would never make it, and there are plenty of examples of relationships like that being successful.
