*If a job asks you on the application if you're willing to submit to a drug test, does that neccessarily mean they're going to give you one?* I don't understand why these low quality jobs are asking for so much when they have poor management and horrible pay anyway.. but due to the fact I recently enrolled in college and I'm struggling I'm in desperate need of one. Granted - I am a user but that doesn't mean I am a human being of low quality and it's also irrelevant to the question. One more question - do you think that these dead end jobs are asking for too much? I honestly do.

But the managers use too! I've had horrible job experiences.. the atmosphere, the pay, and pretty much everything about these places is horrible. So why drug test employees when they themselves don't care about the company/store? I found my answer.. because of Workman's comp.

YOU have the right to ask about drug testing, don't be afraid to, it won't raise any suspicion. I occasionally smoke, and I always thought that the people who thought up drug testing should be hung, did you know that it violates our constitution, AND YOUR RIGHTS ! 4th and 5th Amendment rights "you cannot be used to testify against yourself" and "Illegal search and seizure", Employers cleverly get around this by making YOU sign and agree to this. More disgusting is that it does NOTHING to stop drug abuse, it only increases it. Everyone that I worked with would wait for a 3 day weekend to use cocaine because it would be out of your system by Tuesday if you got drug tested. Why don't we drug test everyone that drives a car ? because people would not stand for it, it's a lame attempt to stop drug abuse, effects a small amt of the population (so uprisings will be minimal) and it lowers insurance costs, and gives them more control of your life, THEY ARE ONLY YOUR EMPLOYER, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO AFTER WORK WITH YOUR LIFE, if your on drugs, they will know fast by you not showing up for work, if someone wants to smoke a joint in their house at mid-night on Friday, it should be nobody business but their own. A long time ago people looking for freedom started a new country, they put a lot of thought into what a hostile government might do to take over it's people, checks were put into place TO PROTECT YOU, from that, many of these people gave their life to make sure that YOU WERE GIVEN THAT RIGHT, I was in the program for drug testing, never cheated, never showed up "HOT". It's so retarded to extract bodily fluids from a person to check them, the last company that asked me would I mind being drug tested, I just stopped the interview and said "look, i'll submit to your drug test ONCE, I don't do drugs or even drink but, I think that it's a personal choice of people, and YOU are aware that you are asking me to wave my constitutional rights by signing this disclaimer". It puts the feeling of "I DON'T TRUST YOU EITHER" into their heads, if they don't like it, they're not worth working for !

99.9% of the time it means they will drug test you, usually only before hire and not afterwards. Your best bet is to be clean for the initial drug test and then ask around at the job once you're hired if they do random drug tests. Keep in mind though: only ask people at the workplace you presume do drugs as well. The best way to find out is striking up a conversation with them and then slipping in the question 'do you smoke pot'. You'll know by how they answer if you can trust them enough to ask any further questions. Also, you can tell if they are trustworthy by how they act towards the employer. "i hate this job' is a red flag letting you know they don't give a rat's butt if they know you smoke pot of anything else. If they hate the job, or the immediate manager/supervisor, there is a 98% chance they won't rat you out. Also, be careful of snitches, sometimes they try to get close to people they think do drugs in order to get them to confess to them, then they go straight to the employer. The best thing to do is try and get them to smoke/snort/ or whatever with/or in front of you, then you know they aren't a snitch.

Every minute in a hot tub is 1% of the toxins excreted from the body. Four, 30 minute sessions in a hot tub before the drug test will suffice. Or buy a jar of Vlasic pickle spears, eat the pickles then drink the juice within a day, drink lots of water. That works too. Or, workout or do sommthing that makes you sweat alot while drinking an ample amount of water. Do that for a week.

Pretty much sweating alot, drinking alot of water, or drinking a form of vinegar, white or pickle juice, peeing alot, or detox pills, are all good ways to pass drug tests. I suggest the hot tub, it works the best in my opinion. So just soak in the huttub for a collective time of 100 minutes and you will be clean.

In my honest opinion, ALL jobs ask for WAY too much, dead end or not.

The question is in the application as a protection for the company. If you have an accident on the job they will test you and if you are dirty you can not sue. Most employers will not give you a drug test (to expensive) but keep the threat of one as a tool. Its all business.

Drug testing is for the workers that become injured at work and want to sue the company and if there are traces of drugs in their systems that's grounds for not getting compensated due to under the influence.

Also stealing from the job is on the rise due to drug use.
Poor quality of work due to drug use.

I think it's fair. i don't want to work with anyone that I have to watch because of drug usage. Due to poor work habits, not showing up to work, I'm for it.

its a liability issue, one high or drunk employee causing a multi million dollar lawsuit can ruin a business and lose the jobs of many other people

i think you are generalizing the job market too much, maybe you should move or go back to school if you cant find anything you like in your area
