Certainly the Old City. It's really picturesque and beautiful. Visit the two castles and check if Morrison Bar is still there (amazing place)! I also loved the northern part of the island and the beaches there!

I recommend to stay only in the north part of the island.South of Lefkimmi(where Cavos is) it is awful. It has not so nice sea and a lot of dirty english tourists. You should go to the capital of Corfu(visit the old and the new castle),to Kanoni(Canon),to Pontikinisi,Palaiokastritsa(where you can visit the old monastery,it is splendid and Bellavista) , Sidari and Canal d'Amour, Roda and all the small villages in the inside part of the island, where you should find excellent food(and not so expensinve as in the town of Corfu).
In Palaiokastritsa the beach is beautiful, very very beautiful but be carefull because the water is too cold. You can also swim to Glyfada beach but my favourite is Ermones beach(according to Homer this is the beach that Ulysses reached Greece as a castaway). In general, for swimming you should prefer the west side of the island, better beaches and the sea is much more cleaner.
Don't also forget to go to Achileio,it is the palace of princess Sissy. It is like a museum know, but if you don't go,you'll lose because it is in a perfect hill with magnificent view. Then you should go to Benitses(it is close there for eating fish).
When you reach Corfu ask for all these places and you will find them very easily.I am jealous , my friend, you go to a perfect place.
Have a nice time to Greece!

I visited Corfu some years ago with my boyfriend. You should definitely visit the city of Corfu and Sissi´s Palace, it´s amazing! Also the "kanoni" and the "pontikonisi".
We also went on a tour with a kaiki (small boat for approx. 20-30 people), they brought us to some beaches in Corfu that you can only reach by boat, the beaches and the water there were unbelievable(we had also a BBQ at one of these beaches)! Then we also sailed to a lagoon where the water was almost light green and you could dive in from the boat. At the end we sailed to a small village for a coffee. So if you have the chance to do something like that.....DO IT!!! It was one of the best trips I´ve went on! :-)

Greece is the "greatest small united states interior the worldwide". Henry Miller suggested that, not I and Henry made an extremely precise assertion. Greece has astounding Islands and that they are categories of islands besides. Over 3000 of them. The mainland has some incredibly indescribable beauties, too many to point out. What you have here as comments are all human beings's very own favorites and what you will desire to do is to get a photograph e book out of your library, look by it with a map of Greece next to you and notice for your self what places you want to pass to. pals of mine visit Greece as quickly as each and every 3-4 years and create a diverse itinerary each and every time. Meteora, Santorini, Meganisi, Corfu, Rhodes, Halkidiki, Crete, Kos, Delphi, Nafplio, Monemvasia, Ksanthi, the Evros Delta, Gianena, Pilio, Lake Plastira, Galaxidi, Hydra, Zagorohoria, Thasos.... How is this for a commencing up?

I'm afraid that all beautiful landscapes have been ravaged by tourism.
Walk in the old city, have an ice-cream at List-On, visit the castles, the Pontikonisi (Mouse Island), Palaiokastritsa, Kavos, Ai Gordis and the Sissy's Palace, called Achilleion.
