1. You made a good beginning. You realized you have a problem and know what the problem is.
2. You also know how you react. This is another good start.
3. Just think how you' d feel if people became psycho on you.
4. "Do unto others."
5. Get plenty of rest because if you are tired, you tend to get your temper "hot" and scream and yell and cuss, which isn't really you.
6. When you feel like you can't handle it, that you are going to go crazy on someone, start humming. Then sing to yourself. Then, and this is very important, look up at the sky and when you are looking up, bite your lip as a reminder that you are a good sweet girl and must act like one. When you look up at the sky, smile, look back at whoever was making you upset, and say, "You know, it just might rain today."

The subject is changed, your mood is changed, and your friend thinks, "Gee what a sweet girl she is."

I know this "You know, it just might rain today." sounds crazy, and they may wonder about you. But it makes them laugh and you do too, so you both feel better. Try it. Practice with a friend sometime, and when this friend tries to make you upset and you feel it happening, ask her about the rain, see what she/he does. It's fun!

The site below has many good tips. You sound like you could benefit from anger management classes. You could be arrested for physically abusing your mother so you really ought to consider signing up for classes or counseling before she calls the police and has it forced on you.

I would suggest going to an Assertiveness Class or an Anger Management Class. They can teach you how to channel that anger and communicate what you feel without flying off the handle. You need to learn to control that anger before you relaly fly off the handle and truly hurt someone.

You are a hormonal teenager. Learn to deal with your bad moods and don't take it out on anyone else. It's part of growing up and your Mum will thank you later for being more considerate. (Plus your parents will have nicer things to say at your 21st)

If you feel yourself losing the plot, go hide in your room, or go for a walk or find something that's ok to break (and won't hurt anyone) and smash it.

When you find yourself headed into straightjacket territory, just remind yourself to take a deep breath and take 10 deep breaths. It sounds corny, but it really works. Also, whatever/whoever is causing you to react this way, you just got to walk away, just walk away. I'm working on my patience too, although it doesn't come close to what you describe.

Check with your doctor. An antidepressant may help you. In addition to being highly stressed I had a very explosive temper and my doctor perscribed Effexor XR and Clonazapam. I can't begin to tell you how much it has helped me.

SHHHHH...Don't tell Tom Cruise!!!

Why don't you check out some anger management courses? As you get older and realize the consequences of your behavior, maybe you will temper your temper!

count to ten--take a deep breath, remember there are many things in life we cannot control, relax and remember once those words come out of your mouth you can never take them back, and once the recipient hears them they will never be fogotten so think twice before you let go.

My son used to have a horrible temper. I took him to see a counselor ... who, in turn, sent him to Anger Management classes. He's soooo much better now. Hopefully they have such a program in your area ...
