NICKname. you had me confused there beause nic's have manes but you don't need that for yahoo messenger. (nic stands for network interface card). Now to answer your question:

just login to the yahoo and u get option of changing ur nic name in the messanger option on the top of the messanger

sign in as usual and then b4 you go into the chat rooms there should be edit profile or something like that then you can make anthor nickname for you and anthor profile also well

if you click on your username, hit the edit my profile, in their you have several options for setting your username. The last one is to create your own name. Just type it and save it. That's it.

go to left-top click on messanger then click on my contact detail , change ur name and save it
