Forget grammar, which is abysmal! What in the world has happened to spelling??

I've wondered the same thing. It makes me think of a test I had in med school on the skeletal structure. The words were listed at the top of the page, and I was the only one who bothered the look at them and use correct spelling. And these were grown women.
And on yahoo all you have to do is click on spell check. When incorrect spelling is used, it makes one wonder about a persons educational level.

I use it all the Time. But, there is a Problem. Once the Answer goes beyond a Certain Character Limit, Spell Checker no longer Works.What is that Limit ?

I think we have gone beyond spellings. As long as we understand each other in this open forum why restrict yourself to 'propah' grammar & spelling. I consider ppl who point other's spelling mistakes slightly priggish & small minded ( maybe old school too). Lighten up , you guys this is not an exam we are sitting for :)

Most people trust their spelling ability, and the worse part of it was they dont know how to spell, They may not be aware that there were mistakes in their spelling.

Most people on Yahoo answers are so intelligent, they
don't need spell check.
The lack of simple spelling skills is telling.
I suppose these clowns are busy on their cell phones.

My thoughts exactly . My spelling is far from perfect so I always run a check first before I submit my answer.

You will see it everywhere, here. People are also abbreviating words that shouldn't be abbreviated. It is very annoying, but you get over it.
I didn't use spell check, did I need it?
