They are blackheads and often they are ingrown hairs as well. I'm not sure of how to get rid of them completely. I know that using some kind of salt scrub really helps. Also applying some kind of anti-acne cream everyday after washing. Try not to put anything on your chest that can clog your pores. Also, I know this sounds bad, but more people do it that I realized. DO NOT shave any hair off your chest. Some people get uncomfortable with a little bit of "peach fuzz". They shave it and end up getting thick ingrown hairs and blackheads like the ones you are describing. Then there is really NOTHING you can do.

I get something similar... but the little dots are just pores (kinda near my nipples), as far as I know. And you are right -- they don't look like pimples, and I doubt they are. When I squeeze mine too (yum!... *sarcasm*), a tiny, tiny amount of white stuff comes out, and it slightly resembles a "hair". They're not sore, however, like pimples or other tiny "infections"... so I dunno what to say, really. They don't bother me... I am assuming they are just clogged pores. It would probably be best to use a gentle cleanser on your chest that's for body pimples and clogged pores. I know Neutrogena makes a body wash just for that. Good luck!

Ingrown hairs, probably mixed with sweat and body oils and dirt. Make sure that you clean the area well after you get rid of them and put an antibiotic on the area so it won't get infected or reinfected.

You can get the hairs removed by electrolysis, if you're up to it. If you're not, just keep doing the above.

Hello...As with the answer from "ilovecalculus"...if you are a person who works out...you may find you produce more oils in the skin...I find after workin' out or being active, I will shower as soon as possible and when dried off...I will use a mild (non-alcoholic) body or facial astringent (good ones at health food stores) ...stay away from perfumed or scented body creams...the blackhead you are producing with the ingrown hair underneath can be a combination of things,...shavin', perfumes or oily creams....with a combination of what was previoulsy stated and my ideas....I wish you luck !!

They are ingrown hairs. If you use antibiotic ointment after plucking they aren't so bad. If you don't pluck them, maybe you should.
